The Houston Forensic Science Center welcomes the media to an open house at the Lt.
Barry McDermott Crime Scene House Training Facility. This unique facility, located at
1620 Crockett Street, is primarily used to train crime scene investigators and forensic
analysts and examiners. In August, HFSC is opening the facility to the public in honor
of National Forensic Science Week. Visitors will view a mock crime scene, learn what
investigators do to collect evidence, lift fingerprints and get a sneak peek at other
forensic disciplines. The media is invited on August 8 to learn about the benefit of
having such a specialized training facility in Houston, take pictures and ask questions.
