City Council to vote on including one of San Antonio Four on HFSC board

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Houston City Council will be asked Wednesday to approve Anna Vasquez, one of
the “San Antonio Four” _ four women wrongfully convicted and later exonerated in a
case that made national headlines _ to the Houston Forensic Science Center board of
directors. City Council is also being asked to approve Dr. Stacey Mitchell, a forensic
nurse, to be the board’s chairwoman.
Dr. Peter Stout, HFSC’s CEO and president, Dr. Mitchell, the incoming chairwoman,
and Nicole Casarez, the current chairwoman of HFSC’s board of directors, will be
available to answer questions after the meeting.
WHEN: June 5, 2019 at 9 a.m.
WHERE: Houston City Hall, City Council Chamber
Ms. Vasquez will be available for interviews upon request on Thursday June 13,
2019.
